Welcome to Hug Pelvic Physio, my name is Louise Hug. I am an APA Titled Pelvic Health and Continence Physiotherapist, with over a decade of experience in physiotherapy and a Master’s degree in Continence and Pelvic Health.

After the birth of my baby girl in 2017, I developed a special interest in treating the musculoskeletal system and bladder/bowel dysfunction of the pelvis. I completed further training in Pilates instruction, women’s and men’s urinary incontinence, real-time ultrasound, ano-rectal dysfunction, and perinatal care. This led to a passion for supporting individuals across the lifespan with their bladder, bowel and sexual function. The birth of my second baby, a boy in May 2020 only reinforced my passion in this field.

After I spent 7 years working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, I transitioned into more specialised work for the next three years with a pelvic health clinic and a Urological Clinic. It was at these locations I gained invaluable experience in managing of a wide variety of urological presentations, from pre-operative education through to post-operative prostate surgery care.

In August 2024, I proudly opened Hug Pelvic Physio, a private practice based within the welcoming and collaborative medical centre of Perth Reconstructive Urology in Palmyra. I also consult once a week alongside Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Dr. Eman Alnaggar at Her Health Clinic in Wexford Medical Centre. These professional relationships allow me to work closely with specialists, delivering comprehensive care to patients facing challenges such as prostate cancer recovery, urine flow issues, sexual dysfunction, penile and scrotal pain, pelvic organ prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, and postpartum recovery.

In October 2024, I launched the Hug Pelvic Health Store, an online platform supplying patients with physiotherapy-recommended pelvic health products. This project reflects my commitment to improving access to safe and effective products and resources for pelvic health management. My most recent development includes my own line of specialised products designed for pelvic pain management: the Peri Flow Dilator Set, the Vibration Egg massage tool, and Peri Balm—a natural intimate hydration and soothing balm.

I remain committed to lifelong learning and professional development, actively participating in advanced courses, collaborative projects, and networking with healthcare providers across Australia and Internationally. My approach is holistic, empathetic, and patient-centred, with a deep respect for the interconnectedness of body, mind, and function in pelvic health.
