For a low-risk pregnancy Louise recommends the following appointment schedule:
Early pregnancy - for support with safe exercise, pelvic girdle pain and pelvic support, vulval varicosities, perineal massage, constipation, nipple care, and pelvic floor awareness.
Mid-pregnancy - for creating a birth plan, labour stages and positions, pain management, breathing tips, massage and pelvic floor relaxation.
Preparing for afterbirth - for support with pelvic floor and abdominal exercises, perineum healing, scar massage, correct feeding posture, post-birth recovery, safe return to exercise and the 6 week physiotherapy assessment.
Postnatal - support and assessment for incontinence, abdominal tone and separation, safe return to sex, prolapse prevention and bowel management.
